PT-RZ21K leads high-brightness switch from lamp to laser in the 20 000 lumens segment
High-brightness projection possibilities are set to expand in the rental, events and large-venue markets, with the autumn launch of the Panasonic PT-RZ21K projector.
This new 3-Chip DLP™ SOLID SHINE laser series is a companion to the PT-DZ21K, Europe’s best-selling high-brightness projector, is compatible with existing Panasonic lenses and features a similarly compact, lightweight body. That means it’s easy to transport and install compared to other projectors in the class.
Dual solid-state laser drives deliver up to 20,000 lm of brightness at WUXGA or SXGA+ resolution, while a durable dust-proof optical system increases maintenance-free operation time way beyond that achieved by lamp-based rivals. And that’s where the opportunities arise.
Reduced maintenance means lower operating costs – replacement lamps aren’t needed and scheduled services are fewer – so more projection projects can be realised than previously possible.

SF1H and LinkRay technology: the new 1-2-1 mobile marketing tools
LinkRay uses LED light to transmit digital content to mobile devices, turning digital signage displays, signboards and light sources in to 1-2-1 marketing tools for smartphones.
Available in 42”, 49” and 55” formats, Panasonic’s new SF1H Series of FULL HD LCD displays include LinkRay platform to make data transmission through light a reality.
LinkRay technology can also be used through small and flexible ID modulators that will transform signboards and light sources into transmitters.
Users can receive data sent from LinkRay transmitters by using their smartphone’s camera through an app. Information can be downloaded and displayed in the user’s native language, augmenting visitor experiences in spaces such as museums and galleries, as well as in retail environments.
SF1H series and separate ID modulators will be available from April 2017.

Digital signage goes from strength to strength with TH-65EF1 display
The new TH-65EF1 display strengthens Panasonic’s networked digital signage line up, adding to a range which stretches from 32-84” panels. Each features a built-in USB media player, eliminating the need for a set-top box or a connected PC.
LAN connection allows content changes and scheduling to be made using Panasonic’s Multi Monitoring Control Software. It’s also possible to have synchronised playback on multiple screens using the USB media player, when connected via LAN and a hub.
In total, 59 PC signal types are supported and the panels offer connectivity via two HDMI, DVI-D, USB, PC/component, and video inputs joining LAN, RS-232C, and IR in/out terminals. In addition, the panels have a thin bezel of just 13.9mm and are equipped with automated detection and switching of signals, so that the last signal is always the one displayed, whether digital or analogue.

Advanced Swap warranty delivers enhanced service for displays customers
From February 2017, professional displays customers now enjoy an enhanced service from Panasonic, thanks to our Advanced Swap Warranty.
Under the terms of this service, any customer who buys a professional display after February will be entitled to a permanent replacement of their unit when a hardware failure is verified for their display. This is an upgrade to the previous Return to Base Warranty that was offered.
To ensure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum, once a hardware failure is verified, our authorised service partner will contact the customer to deliver a swap unit, which we aim to provide within approximately two working days.

Music becomes light at Elbphilharmonie
Featuring a remarkable ‘detached’ concert hall, Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg's latest landmark, opened in January 2017 with a spectacular lighting and sound production to match the complex’s cultural significance.
At the launch event, witnessed by a live audience, on television and via a real-time web stream, the music played by the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester was translated into a visual display on the exterior walls of the new building.
A total of 27 projectors with more than 800,000 ANSI lumens of light were used, resulting in a total resolution of 17,400 x 2,160 pixels. These were combined with more than 800 lighting fixtures. 24 of the projectors were the new 31,000 lm laser projector from Panasonic, the PT-RZ31K.
Marco Dunker, Video Project Manager at event organiser, PRG, said, "We set up six towers. Each tower includes three Panasonic RZ31K projectors. These are new laser projectors, which are being used here for the first time.”
The outcome was undoubtedly spectacular. Lighting Designer Jerry Appelt, said: "I've been fortunate enough to have done something like this once or twice in my life and all I can say is this: there'll be nothing like this again.”
