As part of the latest generation of WyreStorm 4K HDR extenders, the EX-35-H2-ARC was developed to meet demands for signal extension with HDMI 2.0 and Audio return channel (ARC) support.
Featuring automatically activated dynamic compression, this extender handles visually lossless content up to 17.8Gbps without adding any latency to support transmissions of up to 2160p 60Hz 4:4:4 content over HDBaseT up to 35m/115ft or 1080p to 70m/230ft.
The EX-35-H2-ARC meets the requirements of the latest HDR standards, including HDR-10 and HLG up to 60Hz which are increasingly found on consumer electronic devices such as Apple TV, Ultra HD Blu-ray, cable & satellite boxes and games consoles. It also offers HDCP 2.2 compliance, support for Dolby Vision™ up to 30Hz and multichannel audio up to Dolby Atmos and DTS-X.
The dynamic compression running at just a 2.4:1 ratio enables such technologically demanding content to be sent to its end-point via native HDBaseT at a speed of just 10 microseconds, for both image quality and latency that is indistinguishable from the original source.
Capable of extracting multichannel audio up to 5.1 from a smart TV and sending to a compatible AVR, the True ARC functionality offers significant autonomous benefits as opposed to S/PDIF typically included on competing products. Whereas an S/PDIF connection requires manual switching to a different channel, True ARC enables an AVR to automatically detect an incoming ARC signal from a smart TV containing multichannel audio.
In terms of application, it is tailor-made for a home cinema or media room environment where several sources are connected to an AVR for 4K UHD source switching and selection; and a large screen smart TV with inbuilt apps used to watch on-demand content from the likes of Netflix or Amazon Prime.
The EX-35-H2-ARC can be used not only to extend any 4K UHD content from the AVR to the smart TV, with lossless compression technology supporting both HDR or 4:4:4/60, but also extract multichannel audio from the Smart TVs content and send it back to the AVR - all without breaking away from the HDMI specification. This is True ARC functionality.
