Panasonic drives Toyota’s New Digital Retail Concept
When Toyota was looking to revolutionise its digital capabilities in 2,100 showrooms across 28 European countries, it came to Panasonic.
Alongside our logistical knowledge and capabilities with large-scale projects, our high-resolution, optimal-brightness screen offerings were an integral part of creating the new dynamic needed to engage with customers increasingly gathering product information online before visiting a store.
To offer the most customised purchasing experience possible, digital product specification stands were placed next to newly launched models and best sellers. Sales staff operated tablets, linked with LFE-series totem display screens around the showroom, to configure the ideal car for each customer, based on their specifications, and alongside online resources such as online product and technology videos.
Our top-of-the-line displays have allowed Toyota to step away from static paper brochures into the digital age, offering customers a ‘real view’ of the car they are buying.

Duty of care: how Panasonic keeps things moving at Euston Station
Dominating the concourse at London’s Euston Station, large-scale projection operates for 21 hours each day, highlighting travel offers, tweets and other crucial marketing messages to around 100,000 potential customers. The frenetic environment and extended hours of operation means frequent and comprehensive maintenance is crucial, but the usual ‘return to base’ model means costly delays and unnecessary downtime for the client. Panasonic’s CARES (Customer Assurance through Remote Monitoring and Enhanced Service) has pioneered a predictive service via our Mobile Virtual Network, using 3G technology, alarms and system diagnostics to remotely monitor the Euston projectors from the Monitoring and Repair Centre in Cardiff. It means problems, such as lamps and filters that need changing, can be identified before they occur and dedicated Panasonic engineers dispatched to repair the projector out of hours before service is interrupted.
Panasonic is looking to expand the scope of products we can monitor with CARES with the aim of making the use of our products hassle-free for all our customers, and connecting them to additional value-adding services.
